Quitting is a very hard proces, but I don't have to tell you that because you wouldn't be reading this if you haven't tried. Most blogs about this subject have been written by people that haven't smoked before, but I have. But it worked for me. Do not be fooled by advertisements or other merchandise because they wont make quitting easier for you.
But first I want to tell you some facts about smoking. Smoking is physical but also pyschological addiction. Smoking is a daily ritueel, the feeling you want to smoke will a come at same times. For instance, the morning sigarette or the sigarette after a warm meal. Eliminating that regular fix of nicotine will cause your body to experience physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings. To successfully quit smoking, you’ll need to remove these habbits. But said is much more easier than done. The first day of quitting you feel motivated and strong. But if the stress level is being build up by your daily life then it becomes harder. You will forget the reasons you are quitting and then you will fail. That why you will have to write down the reasons you quit. For example :
-Health improvement
-You will have more money
-No morning cough
-You will smell cleaner
-Your teeth and gums will look better
Their can be other reasons for quitting like being pregnant. All of them are good. Because their are no possitive things about smoking. If you lined your reasons up and your mentally focused, you can begin the battle against smoking.
Avoid other smokers while they are smoking. The odor of sigarette smoke will make you nervous and you will into your old habbit. Also avoid products with caffeine, most of time people smoke after or before they drink for example coffee. Your body remembers this. Its better to drink tea. I know its very hard if you have a job that starts early but its for the better good. It's also better to start quitting when you are on vacation or a time in your life when the stress is at it's lowest point.
Try to talk with other people about your progess, they will compliment you. To be complimented is very important because it boosts your motivation. Also try to compliment yourself. Every time you don't smoke, be proud of yourself that you are doing this. Most smokers aren't strong enough to quit, nut you are. If you keep that in your mind, I am sure it will work out for you. Also keep track of your smoking activity.
Quitting at once is very hard, and will leave you with massive withdrawel symtoms. Try to divide it over time. If you smoked a pack a day, then you would have to reduce it to 13 sigaretts a day and keep track of it.

Every two weeks you will reduce the number. If you reduced it to a sigarette a day then you are ready to skip days. If you feel that quittig this way is to easy you can always smoke less a day to reduce the sypmtoms wich can easily make you smoke again.
Nicotine pills and other nicotine products will help you quit smoking but their is a very big downside of using these products. You will get addicted to using them. The nicotine provided but the sigarette will be replaced by the nicotine products. Its better to quit the old fashion way.
